So the other day I was checking out different stuff on ebay and saw that the Hoodude Scarah two pack is hella expensive. I don’t really care too much for basic Scarah, but I love Hoodude. So knowing that I’d never pay so much just for a cheap plush, that doesn’t look very much like the character in any of his versions but the box art, I decided to take it upon myself to make one of my own. I used MyFroggyStuff’s tutorial on youtube as inspiration, but did a lot of things way different as far as construction goes. I sort f blended his Webisode and CGI appearances when I made him. One thing I noticed was that the official Hooduded does not have ears, despite all other versions of him having them, so I made a special note to myself to make sure to add them on mine. This was a learning experience, and there are definitely some things I love and hate about him. So I will likely make a second version using things I learned from my first go round to perfect him. I also made sure to get the correct size ribbon I needed for this project, as the red and second sized white ribbon I have had to be cut and frayed like hell even with taking heat to it to seal it up. I think one of the most noticeable mistakes I made and the thing that I hate most about him is his legs. I know now to do both by hand first and then take them to the machine, as going freehand with the machine was a disaster and left me with a noodle leg that is far too long and misshapen. I’m also going to try and figure out how to get his face the right shape. I didn’t manage to get it the right shape with what I did, but I’m brainstorming some ways to make sure that I get it right before I tackle another version of him. I’m also considering using embroidery floss for his hair as the felt sticks up way too much to look right.

THE SHELL IS ATTACHED TO THE THE SPINE. DRILLED IN THE SPINE DA FUQ
This makes me so sad
actually it looks like the drillholes were made around the outer edge, with rope going up to the handle
the big question here is who the fuck decides “this turtle needs to be more portable”
a tortoise’s entire shell is made of bone, covered in cartilage. Drilling holes into any part of it invites bacteria, leading to a bone infection and can cause cracks to form in the carapace, which could be disastrous.
